Brazilian duo ANAVITÓRIA (F/Simas) has received two Latin GRAMMY Awards nominations, one for Best Portuguese Language Song, “Lisboa,” and Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album for COR. Congratulations and good luck to all of the nominees!
ANAVITÓRIA, composed of Ana Caetano and Vitória Falcão, has four previous Latin Grammy Award nominations and two wins, bringing their total nominations to six to date.
The Brazillian duo previously released two albums, both nominated for “Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album” at the Latin Grammy 2017/2019. Their hit “Trevo” reached number one in Brazilian singles charts and won the Latin Grammy for “Best Portuguese Language Song” in 2017. ANAVITÓRIA’S current/nominated album, COR, was a “last-minute” and a special gift to the fans released as a surprise on 2020/2021 New Years’ Eve. The album achieved #2 position on Spotify Global on the week it was released.
Leoni Torres has released six albums as a solo artist and has collaborated with artists such as Rosario Flores, Pablo Milanes, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Gente de Zona and Francisco Cespedes. With the release of the album Alma Cubana, Leoni managed to rescue the traditional Cuban rhythms, such as the son, the bolero, the rumba, mixing them with a more contemporary tropical style. This fusion makes it an authentic product that features the essence of Cuban musical roots and traditions.
The 22nd Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on Thursday, November 18th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will air live on Univision at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT). Preceding the 2021 Latin GRAMMYs telecast is the Latin GRAMMY Premiere ceremony, where the winners in most categories will be announced.
