Unique, transgressive, uncomfortable, risky, shameless, shocking … The adjectives that define the intense personality of Najwa are applicable to all of her artistic facets. Her characters in films and television, her recognizable voice in advertisements, and her music are charismatic; yet despite all of this, she continues to look for her own innovative path. “AMA” was conceived during the first Covid confinement. Najwa developed the concept based on beauty as a reaction to the dramatic situation that we were experiencing, but also as a counterpoint to the characters she has played in recently in the series Vis a Vis and La Casa De Papel, so intense and extreme, and that have been so popular with viewers around the world.
To do so, she used iconic songs created in the first half of the 20th century (“Muñequita linda”, “Solamente una vez”, “Perfidia”, “Acércate más”, etc), true universal classics of popular music that she has adapted with a modern touch, for which she has also counted on exceptional vocal collaborations: Pablo Alborán, Israel Fernández, Rusowsky and the actor Alvaro Morte (main actor in La Casa de Papel). Never has a bolero sounded so now.
